Clickers
“Who Wants to Be A Tutor?” Using Clickers in the Classroom
An interactive session, offering an insight into the use of Personal Response Systems (PRS), more commonly known as ‘Clickers’.
What are Clickers?
Clickers are most well known for their use Who Wants to be a Millionaire’, but within a classroom, offer opportunities for in-class surveys, revision of previous topics, and for triggering discussion between students.
“The Interwrite personal response system (clickers) enables all students in a class to answer questions set by a tutor . The tutor can use the results to gauge how well the class as a whole and also individual students are learning. Students submit their responses using an individual handset (the clicker) in response to questions displayed via a computer. Student responses are picked up by a receiver connected to the computer and can then be immediately displayed to the class and also may be analysed afterwards.”
What will I learn in this session?
This session will demonstrate the use of Clickers, the potential they offer for learning and teaching, and what you need to know in order to use them within your classroom.
When are the Sessions?
- Tuesday, 14/09/10, 12.00-13.00
- Thursday, 20/01/11, 13.00-14.00

Hi Bex – just wondering, how many clickers do we have available? Do we have enough for a session with 100+ students?
Thanks
Hi Natalie
I haven’t recounted them, but the official number I understand we have is 82, so not enough for 100+. AimHigher also purchased some, but I’m not sure how many there, and they were a different make.
